I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Oregon. My primary research interests are in history and philosophy of science and biology. Most of my work focuses on the molecular life sciences – biophysics, biochemistry, and structural and molecular biology. I also co-lead an interdisciplinary research project on weight stigma and eating disorders at the Rotman Institute of Philosophy at Western University. We focus on epistemological and ethical issues that arise in this context where medicine, psychiatry, and bias collide.
I received my PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021. Before that, I completed an MSc in Philosophy of Science at the London School of Economics (LSE). I also have an MS in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Memphis. As an undergraduate at the University of Richmond, I earned a BS in Biochemistry and a BA in Gender Studies. |
